whisky glasses

The history of whisky glasses began in the 16th century. The first whiskey glasses, which originated in Ireland and Scotland, are small bowls made of wood with two small handles, and these antique names are "Quiach".
At first, the bowl was only a drinking tool, but later people had to add status symbols to it - common people used simple wood quarks, nobles would be embedded with rare metals, some quarks were even made entirely of gold and silver, and Scottish clan leaders used them to show off their wealth and power.
Quarks of course also have a symbol of hospitality, and for them, sharing a glass of whiskey with someone is a sign of sincerity and friendship. With the development of quark symbolism, its practical nature gradually weakened, and the sense of ritual increased.

18th century: Glass wins, tumbler cup popular
The Tumbler, also known as the tumbler cup, has been around since the 17th century, but it wasn't until the 18th century that it gradually overtook quarks and became popular among the masses.
Early Tambler cups had round bottoms. One theory is that if there is too much whiskey left in the glass, it cannot be placed on the table because it will spill. Another theory is that the round bottom is thick, and when the cup is knocked over, the cup shakes and quickly stands upright, and less liquor is spilled.
