The martini glass is a special drink glass with a long history, dating back to the 18th century. The story of the martini glass takes us back to Prohibition.

In the early 1900s, prohibition led to the emergence of speakeasies, and the old martini became one of the most popular drinks in these bars. Martinis at the time needed lots of ice to cool them down and enhance their flavor, but because of prohibition, ice was difficult to obtain and difficult to preserve. So, at that time, people started using special martini glasses, instead of ice.

The martini glasses are much smaller than regular wine glasses, usually containing only 5 to 6 ml of glass. It is usually handless, conical or V-shaped, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, and looks like an upside-down trigonal cone. This shape has the major effect of allowing the ** to gain a larger surface area and thus be more easily volatilized and scented.

The martini glass was further refined in the 1930s, resulting in the form we know it today.
