Gewurztraminer

Gewurztraminer, often lightly sweet and spiced, with a strong bouquet of roses (sometimes neroli, gardenia and honeysuckle) and fruit (white peach, lychee, pomelo, etc.). gewurz is relatively lightly spiced (in German, "gewurz" means "spice"), but the spiced flavor of the wine varies from region to region. Gewurztraminer originated in Alsace in northeastern France, but cool climate conditions such as the Pacific Coast of California are very favorable for gewurztraminer growth.
